Восстановление сессий – полезная функция в Firefox, благодаря которой он запоминает определенную информацию о предыдущем сеансе работы, так что вы сможете продолжить работу с браузером именно с того момента, где она была прервана.

Как сохранить сессию в Mozilla Firefox

Сохранить сессию Firefox может самостоятельно, так как механизм автоматического сохранения и восстановления сессии появился ещё во второй версии браузера. Firefox сохраняет все открытые окна и вкладки, в том числе URL-адреса страниц, размер и положение окна, а также информацию, введенную в текстовые поля, в специальный файл.

Когда сеанс завершен неправильно, Firefox пытается автоматически восстановить предыдущую сессию, основываясь на данных, содержащихся в файле sessionstore.js. Именно этот файл содержит состояние Firefox во время последнего отключения.

Как восстановить сессию Firefox

Firefox автоматически восстанавливает предыдущую сессию в следующих ситуациях:

• Требуется перезапуск Firefox без потери данных после сбоя операционной системы, драйверов, аппаратного обеспечения либо после того, как Firefox был завершен операционной системой во время завершения её собственной работы;
• Требуется перезапуск Firefox без потери данных после того, как Firefox был перезапущен из-за установки дополнения или обновления;

Браузер сам по умолчанию предлагает восстановить предыдущую сессию. Соответствующая кнопка находится в правом нижнем углу страницы приветствия и от вас требуется только её нажать. Чтобы увидеть эту страницу введите about:home в адресную строку браузера и нажмите Enter.

К сожалению, есть несколько ситуаций, в которых восстановление сессий может не работать – это, как правило, случаи, когда компьютер неожиданно перезагружается или браузер падает до завершения формирования снимка состояния (Firefox делает такой снимок каждые 15 секунд).

После запуска веб-обозреватель пытается автоматически загрузить информацию об открытых вкладках и окнах из файла sessionstore.js.

Если этот файл поврежден, недоступен, имеет неправильный формат или браузер не видит его, Firefox начинает новую чистую сессию и пункт «Восстановить предыдущую сессию» в меню (вызывается нажатием Alt) становится неактивным:

Тем не менее нет причин волноваться, так как есть другие способы чтобы восстановить сессию в Mozilla Firefox.

Закройте браузер и пройдите по пути:

• WindowXP и более ранние ОС Microsoft: C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\< папка профиля >;
• WindowsVistaи более поздниеОС: C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\< папка профиля>;
• Linux:~/.mozilla/firefox/< папка профиля>;
• Mac OS X: ~/Library/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/< папка профиля>;
• Mac OS X: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/< папка профиля>;

В то время как sessionstore.js все еще хранится в основной папке профиля Firefox, все остальные файлы теперь хранятся в папке sessionstore-backups. Также обратите внимание, что sessionstore.js отображается только когда Firefox закрыт.

Откройте папку sessionstore–backups, там хранятся файлы нужные для восстановления:

• sessionstore-backups/recovery.js – содержит состояние Firefox ≤ 15 секунд до последнего отключения или аварии (файл отсутствует в случае чистого отключения);
• sessionstore-backups/recovery.bak – содержит состояние Firefox ≤ 30 секунд до последнего отключения или аварии (файл отсутствует в случае чистого отключения);
• sessionstore-backups/previous.js – содержит состояние Firefox во время предыдущего успешного завершения работы);
• sessionstore-backups/upgrade.js-[build id] – содержит состояние Firefox после последнего обновления.

Данные файлы используют формат JSON.

Файлы содержат информацию о предыдущей сессии и могут быть использованы для замены основного файла sessionstore.js, если он поврежден. Просто выберите и переименуйте в «sessionstore» нужный файл и скопируйте его в главный каталог с заменой.

Важно: прежде чем перейти к ручному методу восстановления, создайте резервные копии файлов путем копирования их в любой каталог.

Firefox: Отключение восстановления сессии

В некоторых ситуациях вам может потребоваться отключить восстановление сессии в Firefox. В этом случае достаточно изменить значение с true на false соответствующей опции в скрытых настройках браузера.

Примечание: Firefox может восстанавливать все окна и вкладки, которые были открыты в предыдущей сессии. Описанный ниже способ предотвратит восстановление после критического закрытия браузера.

1. В адресной строке Mozilla Firefox, введите«about:config»;
2. В строку поиска скопируйте «sessionstore.resume_from_crash» и нажмите Enter;
3. Дважды щелкните по найденному результату, чтобы установить значение FALSE вместо TRUE по умолчанию.

All-in-One Sidebar – Управление боковой панелью в Mozilla Firefox.

Настолько удобное расширение, что Firefox без него не представляется.

Имеет множество наград.

Но слишком нежное, иногда проявляются некорректности в работе и несовместимость с некоторыми приложениями.

Расширение “CuteMenus”.

CuteMenus – Crystal SVG – Добавляет значки ко всем пунктам меню, что делает удобочитаемость меню браузера Mozilla Firefox.

Расширение “Fast Dial”.

Fast Dial – Создает страницу с визуальными закладками.

Размеры и количество настраиваются.

Расширение “FastestFox”.

FastestFox – Позволяет создать окно закладок, автопрокрутку страниц аналогично расширению AutoPager, автокопирование выделенного текста (аналог расширение Auto Copy).

При выделения текста появляется всплывающий бокс с иконками настроенных Вами поисковыми системами.

IE Tab Plus открывает в окне Firefox – Internet Explorer со всеми его настройками и установками.

Данное свойство полезно не только для отладки веб-страницы, но и для сайтов, которые по некоторым причинам не хотят правильно отображать свое содержание в Mozilla Firefox,Chrome.

Расширение “ImgOpera”.

ImgOpera – Управление загрузкой графики, настройка работы графического кеша. Включает, выключает изображения на сайте.

Расширение “Locationbar”.

Locationbar – Выделяет имя домена и расшифровывает адрес для более удобного восприятия.

Имеет цветовые настройки.

Может скрывать имя протокола, например если в настройках ввести протокол http, то в адресной строке вместо //сайт.ру, будет сайт.ру. Это полезно, когда URL длинное и не вмещается в адресной строке браузера.

Позволяет открывать страницы по отдельным частям адреса, например URL- //сайт.ру/1/2/3/4/, нажав на 3 – перейдем на страницу с адресом //сайт.ру/1/2/3/, нажав на 1 – перейдем на страницу //сайт.ру/1/.

Расширение “Menu Editor”.

Menu Editor – Редактор меню. Можно включать, выключать пункты меню.

К сожалению, чем больше расширений установлено в Firefox, тем больше пунктов меню.

Поэтому для того чтобы не рябило в глазах, половину не часто используемых пунктов можно отключить, тогда менюшка становиться читаемой и быстрореагируемая.

Расширение “More Tools”.

More Tools – Уменьшает количество пунктов в меню “Инструменты“, перемещая новые элементы в созданное меню “Ещё инструменты“. Замечательное дополнение которое решает проблему “замусоривания” меню “Инструменты“.

Расширение “MR Tech Toolkit”.

MR Tech Toolkit – Мощный набор инструментов для настройки приложения.

Позволяет устанавливать расширения без проверок (например устаревшие), настраивать “Менеджер расширения” и “Менеджер тем”, параметры меню и конфигурацию профиля.

Расширение “Password Exporter”

Password Exporter – Экспортирует и импортирует пароли между компьютерами.

Сохраняет и восстанавливает пароли и логины доступа к сайтам. Файл паролей имеет формат – .xml

Расширение “Print/Print Preview”.

Print/Print Preview – Замена стандартной кнопки “Печать“, кнопкой на панели инструментов Mozilla Firefox – “Печать – > Предварительный просмотр – Параметры страницы“.

Restore previous session – Configure when Firefox shows your most recent tabs and windows

Firefox can restore all windows and tabs that were open when it was last closed or terminated unexpectedly. This article describes the circumstances under which Firefox will restore your previous session and how you can configure it.

Note: Session Restore may keep you logged in to sites that you were logged in to before you closed Firefox. For more information, see Privacy issues.

When session restore occurs

If you had tabs and windows open when you last closed Firefox, the default Firefox home page will have a Restore Previous Session button on it. To get your tabs and windows back, just click it.

Here's how to get your tabs and windows from a previous session back using the Firefox History menu:

Privacy issues

Session Restore may keep you logged in to sites that you were logged in to before you closed Firefox. If someone else used your computer after you, they could access your account on these sites. If this is a concern then you should not configure Firefox to open all windows and tabs from your previous session.

You may also wish to disable the Session Restore crash recovery feature which is enabled by default. This will prevent restoring a previous session when Firefox is opened after an unexpected close or software crash:

1. In the address bar, type about:config and press EnterReturn.

   • The about:config “This might void your warranty!” warning page may appear. Click I accept the risk! to continue to the about:config page.
2. In the Search box at the top, type browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash.
3. In the resulting grid, double-click on browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash to set it to false.

Troubleshooting

To get your tabs and windows back from a previous session, you should close Firefox from the menu:

If you close each window or tab, only the tabs in the final window that you close are available when you restart Firefox.

Settings may be incorrect

For other session restore problems, you may need to make corrections to your Firefox settings:

1. Click the menu button and choose Options.Preferences.
2. Select the panel.
3. In the History section, make sure that the Firefox will drop-down menu is set to either or .
   • If Firefox will is set to then make sure that Always use Private Browsing mode is not selected.
   • If Firefox will is set to and Clear history when Firefox closes is selected, then click the Settings button and make sure that Browsing & Download History is not selected.
4. Close the about:preferences page. Any changes you've made will automatically be saved.

How To Make The Most of Firefox’s Session Manager

Restoring browser sessions was a milestone in browser development. Meanwhile, all browsers offer this feature to some extent. Firefox allows you to restore previous windows and tabs, but it doesn’t come with an elaborate session manager. The aptly called Session Manager [No Longer Available] fills this gap, allowsing you to save and restore multiple sessions.

Session Manager is one of those apps that works wonderfully with just the default settings. However, a quick look under the hood reveals a host of potential custom settings and comprehensive features.

Session Manager Options

Let’s start this journey with the settings. After installing Session Manager, click the Firefox button and select Add-ons. In the Add-ons Manager, click the Extensions tab, find Session Manager in the list and click the Options button.

Under General, you can customize the default behavior of Session Manager. In the Startup & Shutdown tab, for example, you can determine how sessions should be loaded at startup or backed up at shutdown. Here you can also import sessions from Tab Mix Plus and Session Manager or import and export settings for Session Manager.

Tips:

• Set Session Manager to show your last browser session at startup, to get back where you left off as fast as possible.
• Set it to back up the current session at shutdown; this way you can always return to accidentally closed tabs.
• Glance over the settings under Saving & Restoring to understand how this works and amend the settings to your preferences.
• Also familiarize yourself with the Undo Close, Advanced (change storage location, add encryption), SessionStore (enable crash recovery), and Logging options.

Once you have the basic settings down, it’s time to actually use the extension. Session Manager is listed as a menu item when you click the Firefox button. I have used Session Manager for a while, so there is a long list of various sessions. In the first menu, you will find your saved sessions, as well as a list of recently closed tabs and windows.

The sessions that are saved when you shut down the browser or when the browser crashes, can be found under Backup Sessions.

Via the Session Manager menu item you can save sessions and windows or load and manage existing sessions. Let’s pretend we want to load a session. When you click the respective menu item, a Session Manager window that contains all your stored sessions will open.

Here you can view a list of tabs for each session and uncheck any tabs you don’t want to load, when restoring this session (red). You can also select whether to append or replace your current browser session (green).

Via the button in the top right you can switch between different functions, for example to Rename or Group sessions (blue).

Tips:

• If you suffer from tabs overload, use Session Manager to save sessions while switching between different ‘roles’ in your life, for example social media checking, online shopping, (home)work, articles to read etc.
• If your list of actively saved sessions gets too long, group them by category, using the Group feature.
• If your browser session crashed, you will typically be shown the Session Manager before Firefox launches. If the crash was caused by a particular page, uncheck the respective tab before you open that last session.

Conclusion

Session Manager works great with default settings. However, it is a very comprehensive apps with a lot of useful features.

When used to its full potential, you can store a lot of your regularly used tabs in sessions and groups, which will make Firefox faster while you are doing something else.

Как сделать сохранение и восстановление вкладок Firefox — Session Manager / Заметки Сис.Админа

Даааавныммм дааавно посетители моего проекта, пользующиеся Mozilla FireFox, а особенно читатели моего старого доброго цикла по улучшению сего браузера (часть 1, часть 2, часть 3, часть 4, часть 5), спрашивают меня о том как же сделать в мозилке запоминание прошлых сессий (вкладок и открытых сайтов) аля как в Опере и вообще возможно ли это?

Пришло время рассказать Вам об этом ;)Барабанная дробь и… Поехали.

Session Manager – полезное расширение для Firefox

Именно такое название носит этот замечательный плагин, и занимается он как раз тем, что сохраняет и восстанавливает состояние всех окон после выхода и во время входа в браузер. Тем, кто знаком с оперой знает о чем речь, остальным надо просто поставить этот плагин и попробовать. Также Session Manager позволяет вам восстанавливать случайно закрытые окна и вкладки.

Установка:

• Чтобы установить аддон переходим на его страничку, а именно сюда.
• Жмем на кнопочку “Добавить в FireFox“ (Add to FireFox)
• Во всплывшем окошке дождитесь три секунды и нажмите кнопочку “Установить“
• После завершения установки надавите в кнопочку “Перезапустить FireFox” или перезапустите браузер вручную.
• Установка завершена.

Настройка:

Запускаем браузер.
Выбираем: Инструменты – Менеджер сессий – Настройки менеджера сессий.

Самый минимум настроек – это выставить все как на скриншоте ниже:

В остальном можно оставить настройки как они есть или выставить их на своё усмотрение. Готово, теперь при выходе из браузера плагин запоминает все Ваши сессии и автоматически восстанавливает их при запуске браузера снова.

Так же можно создавать и сохранять определенные сессии, т.е.

открыть вкладки с определенным набором сайтов, сохранить эту сессию и потом вызывать её по своему усмотрению или автоматически при запуске браузера. Для этого откройте необходимые Вам сайты во вкладках, затем выберите Менеджер сессий – Сохранить сессию.

Чтобы загрузить сохраненную сессию выберите Менеджер сессий – Загрузить сессию.

К слову после восстановления сессии остаются в том виде, какие они были на момент сохранения даже если сайт обновился, а посему рекомендую выставить в настройках пункт “Обновить все восстановленные окна“, который обитает в настройках плагина на вкладке Сохранение\восстановление.

FoxTab – еще одно полезное расширение для Firefox

В довесок к этому хочется рассказать Вам о плагине FoxTab, который делает переключение между вкладками нагляднее, симпотяшнее и удобнее. Как это выглядит? Очень просто, добавляется некоторая настраиваемая интерактивность. Например? См.скриншоты:

Надо сказать, что все выполнено очень красиво и гибко настраивается – можно выбрать фон, число колонок и строк, 3D угол отображения всего этого дела и тд и тп.

Работает оно очень просто:

• либо Вы настраиваете на сочетании клавиш смену закладок (у меня это CTRL + прокручивание колесика мышки) и при использовании оного переключаетесь между закладками легко и наглядно выбирая нужную
• либо Вы нажимаете сочетание клавиш (скажем CTRL + Q) перед Вами всплывает весь этот наглядный список и Вы щелчком мышки можете открыть нужную вкладку (чтобы было понятней: в первом случае наглядное отображение исчезает как только вы отпускаете сочетание кнопок, во втором оно висит пока не выберите закладку)

Помимо того, что все выглядит наглядно, еще и стало удобнее и быстрее переключаться между вкладками с помощью упомянутых выше, настраиваемых сочетаний клавиш.
В общем, настоятельно рекомендую ибо красиво, быстро и удобно 🙂

Установка:

• Чтобы установить аддон переходим на его страничку, а именно сюда.
• Жмем на кнопочку “Добавить в FireFox“ (Add to FireFox)
• Во всплывшем окошке дождитесь три секунды и нажмите кнопочку “Установить“
• После завершения установки надавите в кнопочку “Перезапустить FireFox” или перезапустите браузер вручную.
• Установка завершена.

Настройка:

Открываем браузер. И либо жмем в синие квадратики возле кнопки закрыть и строки адреса, а затем в левом нижнем углу жмем в кнопку настроек.

Либо тыркаем в : Инструменты – Дополнения – FoxTab – Настройки и настраиваем.

Специфически важных настроек никаких нету – настраивайте на свой вкус 😉

Session Manager is a free Mozilla Firefox extension to save and restore multiple browser sessions. This incredibly powerful and feature loaded browser add-on lets you manage almost every single aspect of your browsing session(s).

Session Manager can automatically save browsing sessions at regular time intervals. Apart from that, it also lets you save your browsing session manually at any particular instant of time.

You can choose which browser tabs/windows are to be included/excluded from a particular session backup.

Session Manager also allows you to specify other session specific elements (e.g. recently closed tabs, number of back/forward button presses) to be added to the backup. Note: Basically, a browsing session is the state of your browser at any particular instance of time. Hence, the browsing session consists of the opened tabs (along with the webpages actively open in them), recently closed tabs, browser cookies and things that. All of this information can be saved by Session Manager

Step 1: The first step is to create a browsing session.

To do so, simply browse the web for a while you normally would (Open up a couple of tabs, browse a few websites, close some tabs you no longer need etc.).

Once you have enough session information to be saved, click the Session Manager icon (the one that looks a Blue floppy disk), and select Save Session.

Step 2: Once you do that, the Save Session window should pop-up. This window consists of options specific to saving of the current session. For example, you can see a list of currently open browser tabs/windows.

You can choose to either include only some of the open browser tabs in the saved session, or all of them. Apart from that, you can also give your saved session a name, and save it under a group. After specifying all the options, hit the Save Session button.

Step 3: That’s it. Your current browsing session will be instantly saved, complete with all the open browser tabs, the websites open in them, browser cookies and all of that stuff.

Even the list of recently closed tabs would be saved.

Now, to restore this session anytime, you can either choose it directly from the Session Group sub-item, or use the Load Session option to select and restore it. Here’s a screenshot:

As seen in the above screenshot, the last saved session shows up in the list highlighted in Blue color. Apart from that, there are automatically saved backup sessions that you can choose from. You can even choose whether to restore the previously saved session by adding it to the current session, or open it as it is. Isn’t that friggin’ amazing?

If you think that saving and restoring multiple browsing sessions is all that Session Manager can do, you couldn’t be more wrong.
